By California Sports Surfaces.
California Sports Surfaces has long been the leader of the pack in the coating industry. From developing the first acrylic resurfacing coat to the first athletic line paint and the first cushioned acrylic systems, they have continually claimed the gold medal. But those 70 years of experience and success are not slowing California Sports Surfaces down any time soon. To this day, they are innovating and revisiting older products to see what can be done to improve them using the newest technological and chemical advancements.
One of the most recent technological advancements is the Ultra Performance line of color coatings. Officially launched in 2021, Ultra Performance combines superior UV resistance, with increased permeability, durability and flexibility. All of this means that this coating provides better coverage, stronger color retention and an overall improved appearance.
To truly put the Ultra Performance coatings to the test, the team at California Sports Surfaces put them side-by-side with some of the best known athletic surface coatings in the world to see how they would stand up. The result? California Sports Surfaces is back at the forefront of innovation and will continue to be a company of ‘firsts.’
Taber Abrasion Test
Ultra Performance was formulated for exceptional abrasion resistance and durability to minimize surface wear.
Tensile Strength and % Elongation Test
This test demonstrates the flexibility and strength of a coating. Tensile strength provides more pliability when applying a coating over rubber mat systems or imperfect asphalt.
Permeability Test
Improved permeability allows the coating to breathe from the ground up and avoids moisture trapping, a common cause of a number of surface problems.
QUV Test
Color change after UV exposure. For this test, we focused on the colors that were most susceptible to UV degradation, with a great improvement over previous formulations and current industry offering.
