ABC Supply Co., Inc. signs statement of support for the Guard and Reserve

ABC Supply Co., Inc reaffirmed its commitment to Guardsman, Reservists and Veterans in the United States.

ABC Supply Co., Inc., the largest wholesale distributor of roofing and other select exterior and interior building products in North America, reaffirmed its commitment to Guardsman, Reservists and Veterans in the United States by signing a Statement of Support for the Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). This U.S. Defense Department program promotes cooperation and understanding between civilian employers and their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.

The Statement of Support proclaims:

• Employment will not be denied because of service in the Guard or Reserve.
• Job and career opportunities will not be limited or reduced because of service in the Guard or Reserve.
• Employees will be granted leaves of absence for military service in the Guard or Reserve, consistent with existing laws, without sacrifice of vacation.
• This policy will be adopted throughout the entire organization.

Balancing a civilian career with the demands of military service can be a challenge for members of the National Guard and Reserve. Members often face unique obstacles in securing employment that accommodates their service commitments. Since 2017, ABC Supply has hired more than 2,800 Veterans and service members. This commitment adds to the company’s existing partnerships with organizations that support Veterans, including Military.com, RecruitMilitary, Army Partnership for Your Success (PaYS) and Homes For Our Troops.

By signing the Statement of Support, ABC Supply pledges to:

• Fully recognize, honor and comply with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act.
• Provide its managers and supervisors with the tools they need to effectively manage employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.
• Appreciate the values, leadership and unique skills service members bring to the workforce and encourage opportunities to hire Guardsmen, Reservists and Veterans.
• Continually recognize and support our country’s service members and their families, in peace, in crises and in war.
