In July 2024, The Coffee Shops hosted our first-ever CoatingsTalk live from the roof! In it, Heidi J. Ellsworth joined John Athanasion and Mike Negrete from APOC to see firsthand how to examine common problem areas on the roof and what the best practices are for repairing/addressing them. Not only did they walk you through the process in English, but Mike made sure to share them all in Spanish as well. While filming the webinar, they also took some time to highlight how APOC’s products can be used to create a complete system.
This product is manufactured using a 100% acrylic base resin that is then modified with polyurethane properties. This combination leads to a highly flexible coating that resists cracking and peeling. Even more than that, its high flexibility allows for expansion and contraction. This means it can move with the roof beneath it, overall extending the roof life and reducing maintenance costs.
In addition to resisting damage from UV rays, APOC 252 is 90% solar reflective, meaning it will reflect heat, improve energy efficiency and lower cooling costs. This versatile coating also has improved water resistance, making it a great option for areas with higher moisture presence.
The next product introduced was the 264 Elastomeric Roof Patch. This was designed specifically to be used with elastomeric roof coating in particular. It was developed from a hybrid formula that allows it to unite the waterproofing abilities of polyurethane with the flexibility and ease of use of acrylic polymers. Usable both indoors and outdoors, it is 100% waterproof and UV stable and great for covering penetrations or cracks.
The last, but certainly not least product brought up was the APOC 300 Non-Fibered Asphalt Emulsion, which is a non-flammable and odorless coating that is ideal for reinforced restoration. This is a UL Rated product that can be used with silicones and elastomerics along with being great for BUR, metal and concrete. APOC 300 is not only efficient, but also solvent-free and adds the durability and longevity of asphalt, without heat or risk of injury that can occur in torched rolls or hot asphalt systems.
