A few months ago, we asked visitors to the Coffee Shop to tell us their KARNAK story. We want to know how they are using the products and how the products have helped them solve problems and restore roofs. Keep reading to see what we learned
In an interview, Ernie Martinez of Mason City Roofing shared his story of a very challenging roof problem that KARNAK 19 Ultra was able to repair and get the roof through the winter until the owner had the funds to replace it. Ernie is a dedicated KARNAK fan, and also a U.S. Marine. Read his story here.
As Ernie would say, KARNAK 19 Ultra Flashing Cement is a powerful product. It’s the next generation asbestos-free elastomeric flashing cement that can be used in wet and dry conditions. It even can handle repairs under water. Scientifically compounded with a selection of rubber reinforced asphalt, mineral fibers, and refined solvents, KARNAK 19 Ultra is manufactured to a heavy pliable consistency for ease of application by trowel. 19 Ultra provides a durable elastomeric coating of greater strength, excellent adhesion and high resistance to water and weathering.
William Anifantis of Greenwood RoofServices in Milford, Massachusetts told us that his favorite products are Karna-Flex, an elastomeric, thermoplastic-rubber sealant ideal for repairs and 298 Alumin-R, an SBS rubberized aluminum coating.
Pete Shulack of Bell Enterprises in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey told us, “We have been in business for over 40 years and have used KARNAK products almost exclusively. Have had great results with envirolastic coating [535QS Enviro-Lastic] and repairs made with Karna Flex. My guys now call it "flex seal" because it works better than the product depicted on TV.”
KARNAK Karna-Flex is great for repairs on properly prepared metal, concrete, EPDM, TPO, and most PVC membrane as well as spray polyurethane foam and plywood roof substrates. Its ease of application, superior adhesion, elasticity and durability make Karna-Flex an ideal repair sealant.
Mark J. Sobeck of Mark J. Sobeck Roof Consulting in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania told us he was originally opposed to the idea of coatings. “I was introduced to KARNAK products in 1976 by salesman Dave Sharp. I was completely opposed to coatings and he convinced me to use KARNAK coatings and reinforcing fabrics to help mothball several cigar factories. To my surprise they worked extremely well, and I have been specifying KARNAK products ever since. In my opinion, the best and longest lasting asphalt products on the market.”
So, tell us, what is your KARNAK story? Share with us and you could win a YETI cooler!
