Elderly Couple Blessed by One Company’s Kindness

CDG Elderly Couple Blessed by Kindness
August 5, 2023 at 3:00 a.m.

By Dani Sheehan.

Tulsa roofing company donated a free roof to a couple in need after a storm left Northeast Oklahoma in shambles.

The storm that blew through Tulsa over Father’s Day weekend left one family with a gaping hole in their roof. Jerry Noble, an 83-year-old veteran, and his wife Gloria shared their story on Tulsa’s FOX23 in high spirits, knowing it was a blessing they didn’t lose the entire roof. This storm had brought severe thunderstorms and high winds across Oklahoma, disrupting everything in its path. Jerry was not worried about the roof and thankful that he and his wife were unharmed. What they didn’t know at the time was that their community was also looking out for them.

Brandon and Karen Witten’s home was also affected by the storm. When their electricity was restored, they tuned in to Jerry’s interview. Touched by their story, the Witten’s did not hesitate to jump into action. The owners of Family Tree Roofing, they quickly contacted the Noble’s about repairing their roof. Without insurance to cover the damage, Jerry had told FOX23 that he used to work as a roofer and planned to fix it himself.

Brandon and Karen would not dream of it. In a follow up interview with FOX23, Brandon shared, “I always pray to be able to help somebody without looking for anything in return.” Grateful for the kindness of Family Tree Roofing, Jerry shared a similar sentiment, trusting in the process because “God would provide.”

The job cost Brandon’s company around $20,000, but the Witten’s were glad to help, and the pro bono work would not affect the business. At Family Tree Roofing, they believe all clients become their family. Jerry and Gloria received a new roof, and the Witten’s expanded their family tree just a little further.
