Roofers come together to donate roofs to their communities.

Acts of kindness are making a difference to both people and organizations all over the nation. Many generous roofers have supported their communities by contributing roofs! By lending their time, energy and resources, many individuals have received the help and care they needed.

1 - Regal Roofing and Thomas Trantham

Thomas Trantham’s roof was crumbling after enduring twenty years of wear and tear. It had begun leaking and was causing stress for Thomas, a Vietnam veteran. This home had extreme significance as Thomas had lived there his entire life. “This is my childhood home so it’s very nice to see that this home is being brought back to life and getting the care it needs,” Thomas told FOX 16.

To fix the damage and replace the roof, the job would have cost Thomas $12,000. That’s when Regal Roofing stepped in. In collaboration with Owens Corning and Purple Hearts, Regal Roofing was able to replace Thomas’ roof for free. Regal Roofing provided the labor and both Owens Corning and Purple Hearts provided the materials.

“It may seem small to a lot of people, but this is such a big thing for us,” Thomas’ daughter Kayla said. “And especially for him too for everything he’s done.”

2 - Horch Roofing and Ronald McDonald

Everyone needs a helping hand sometimes, even organizations like Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). While families are traveling far distances to get treatment for their kids, their stay is provided for by Ronald McDonald House.

The roofing community banded together to support the organization with new roofs! While living in Belfast, Maine, Peter Horch found a Ronald McDonald House that needed a new roof. Meanwhile, a McDonald House in Bangor, Maine had planned to invest in a new roof for their main house and apartments, but Lauren Genenbacher, the marketing manager for the RMHC Maine had expected the project to cost thousands of dollars. The roofs were beginning to wear down and one roof had even been taken off completely.

Horch Roofing took some of the burden away and provided free roofs for the Ronald McDonald House in Bangor. “We are just so incredibly thankful for this massive gift,” Lauren shared with WABI 5. “Anyone who has had to have their roof redone knows that this is truly such a huge gift that will make a tremendous impact on our bottom line this year.”

In a larger partnership with the National Roofing Contractors Association, The Roofing Alliance and roofers across the country, Horch Roofing was one of many to assist RMHC with their roofs. Several contractors across the U.S. have committed to maintaining and providing repairs to all 187 Ronald McDonald houses. This allows the organization to allocate their funds to other projects and help the children and their families.

3 - Rainy Creek Construction and Habitat for Humanity

GAF and Rainy Creek Construction teamed up to replace the roof for a Habitat for Humanity in Marquette County, Michigan. GAF collected and paid for all the necessary materials and Rainy Creek Construction contributed time and labor. The roof installation was completed in August. Marquette County Habitat for Humanity was very thankful for the major contribution both companies made. Donations like these are crucial to the success and stability of non-profit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity.

Rainy Creek Construction is a GAF Master Elite Contractor. This certification is only given to 2% of roofing contractors and represents the highest quality of roofing skill.
