Greg Hlavaty started his 60-year association with the roofing industry in 1964 working with all types of roof coatings for his father’s company. Followed by positions in roofing distribution and sales and development for Thermo Materials, a manufacturer of coatings, fluid-applied roofing systems and modified bitumens. In 1994 he joined Western Colloid where he holds the position of President.

With his long history in the roofing industry focused on roof coatings, Hlavaty brings not only experience and knowledge to the position of president but also a commitment to excellence to the employees and customers of Western Colloid. In his previous position as general manager, he built the Western Colloid mission of helping contractors build their businesses through exceptional support and training.

Greg has also been a licensed roofing contractor in the state of California for over 40 years. He pairs his practical application skills of coatings with his technical knowledge of roofing to educate contractors and develop premium coatings and fluid-applied systems.

He is currently an active member of the Roof Coating Manufacturers Association (RCMA) serving as a board member and officer, in the position of Vice President, President, and lending his industry expertise to various committees and task forces throughout his many years of service to the organization.

Throughout Greg’s time in the industry, he has been a passionate advocate for roof coating systems, and his efforts on behalf of Western Colloid, Contractors across the U.S., and the RCMA have strengthened the roof coating industry.
