Shelby Moore from Spray-Tec, Inc of Shelbyville, Kentucky writes, "The University of Kentucky needed a work platform to properly maintain the W.T. Young Library's Cupola and Rotunda. Additionally, the existing Ballasted EPDM roof system was starting to show its age and became increasingly more difficult to maintain and repair. They combined the execution of these two projects with the installation of a new fluid-applied coated foam roof system. The roof project is to be completed in 2 phases, the submitted photo shows the completion of phase 1. Spray-Tec removed the existing rock ballast, performed an infrared scan, removed & replaced all wet/deteriorated roofing materials based upon the scan results, and finally, installed a new roof assembly. Once the newly fabricated aluminum I-Beam "sleepers" were installed per engineers' specifications, the entire roof was sprayed with high density foam, followed by 3 layers of urethane roof coating and silica sand. This roof system was issued a 20-year manufacturer warranty from Gaco (Holcim Solutions and Products, US)."
Marcus Clinco from CI Services, Inc. of Mission Viejo, California writes, "We installed a GAF Hydrostop 20 year restoration system on the roof this year. This is a rather iconic building located at the corner of Sunset Blvd and Crescent Heights / Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles. We installed the GAF Hydrostop system over the original charcoal colored modified bitumen roofing system. Downtown LA can be seen in the background in the upper left of the photo. Aside from being in a prime location, I was particularly excited to work on this project as I watched this building get built when it was originally constructed in the 1990's when I was a teenager and spent many weekend evenings "Cruising the Strip" with friends."
