Celebrating excellence in spray foam

SPFA Celebrating excellence in spray foam
July 13, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.

By Dani Sheehan.

West Roofing Systems’ innovative work on the Chardon Building stands as a testament to the remarkable benefits of spray foam roofing.

The Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) National Industry Excellence Awards spotlight the incredible work of contractors who push the boundaries of innovation and quality in spray foam applications. Each year, these awards are presented at the Spray Foam Convention and Expo, recognizing projects that demonstrate exceptional craftsmanship, creativity and problem-solving. This year, the Roof SPF Under 40,000 Square Feet category was won by West Roofing Systems for their outstanding work on the Chardon Building.

West Roofing Systems, a leader in spray polyurethane foam solutions with over 60 million square feet of expertise since 1979, took on the ambitious task of revitalizing the Chardon Building’s roofing system. Spanning 28,553 square feet, the project required 29 days on site by a dedicated team of eight roofing professionals. The team navigated complex skylights and the unique roof shape with ease, while ensuring safety and precision.

As part of their success, they made custom frames for the non-traditional skylights and came up with innovative solutions for sagging sections. The new roof had an elevated insulation value of R-11 compared to R-1, significantly improving the building’s overall energy efficiency.

West Roofing Systems chooses spray polyurethane foam roofing systems over any other roof types for its numerous benefits, including:

  • It minimizes tear-off: Spray foam can often be installed directly over the existing roof, saving building owners the cost and disruption of a complete tear-off.
  • It improves energy efficiency: With an R-value of 6.5 per inch, spray foam provides the best insulation value per inch of any roofing material.
  • Its superior durability: SPF’s ability to expand and contract with the natural movement of a building decreases the likelihood of cracks and splits.
  • It is seamless and waterproof: Applied as a liquid, spray foam fills gaps, seams and cracks, creating a continuous solid surface without joints or seams.
  • It is environmentally friendly: Eco-friendly spray foam products feature zero ozone depletion potential, ultra-low global warming potential and solvent-free silicone coatings, making them a sustainable choice for roofing.

Looking to make your mark in the spray foam industry? Get involved with SPFA and you’ll be one step closer to growing your business, transforming your roofing projects and becoming a leader in the industry.
