The Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) National Industry Excellence Awards spotlight the incredible work of contractors who push the boundaries of innovation and quality in spray foam applications. Each year, these awards are presented at the Spray Foam Convention and Expo, recognizing projects that demonstrate exceptional craftsmanship, creativity and problem-solving. This year, the Roof SPF Under 40,000 Square Feet category was won by West Roofing Systems for their outstanding work on the Chardon Building.
West Roofing Systems, a leader in spray polyurethane foam solutions with over 60 million square feet of expertise since 1979, took on the ambitious task of revitalizing the Chardon Building’s roofing system. Spanning 28,553 square feet, the project required 29 days on site by a dedicated team of eight roofing professionals. The team navigated complex skylights and the unique roof shape with ease, while ensuring safety and precision.
As part of their success, they made custom frames for the non-traditional skylights and came up with innovative solutions for sagging sections. The new roof had an elevated insulation value of R-11 compared to R-1, significantly improving the building’s overall energy efficiency.
