Saint-Gobain, a global leader in sustainable construction, has introduced RenuCore™ by CertainTeed, a transformative innovation aimed at tackling the vast amounts of asphalt shingles that end up in landfills each year. By converting these roofing materials into high-performance pellets for asphalt paving, the company is setting a new standard for circular construction practices.

Acquired from Asphaltica in 2023, RenuCore™ is a recycling technology that not only reduces waste but also enhances the performance of recycled asphalt. The process involves pre-treating and pelletizing shingles, improving resistance to cracking and rutting in roads and delivering durability on par with traditional paving materials. This represents a significant leap forward for sustainable infrastructure solutions.

The official launch of RenuCore™ took place at the Construction and Demolition Recycling Association’s 10th Shingle Recycling Forum in Louisville, Kentucky, on October 29-30, 2024. This event brought together leaders in the construction and recycling sectors to discuss the potential of this cutting-edge technology.
