Help your customers understand various siding material benefits and secure your company as a trusted partner for all their exterior solution needs.

You already provide high-quality materials and craftsmanship to your customers, but have you expanded your services to include siding installation? Offering siding not only complements your existing roofing services but also provides additional revenue and meets a growing demand for comprehensive home exterior solutions in the industry.

When discussing siding options with your customers, Beacon Building Products has put together an article highlighting the differences between aluminum and vinyl sidings. Here are some key points to cover:

  1. Longevity and durability: Aluminum is relatively durable, especially with thicker panels. It typically lasts about 30 years, but it can be susceptible to denting and scratching from hail or falling branches. On the other hand, vinyl is sturdier and can withstand winds up to 110 miles per hour. High-end vinyl siding also comes with a 50-year warranty (depending on the manufacturer), making it a long-lasting option.
  2. Energy efficiency: The nature of aluminum offers good insulating properties in siding, helping to maintain indoor temperatures. Whereas vinyl siding can incorporate rigid foam material within its panels to improve insulation.
  3. Installation and cost: Overall, aluminum siding is lightweight and easy to install, but it can be more challenging in older homes if walls are deteriorating when old siding is removed. Repairs to the structure will need to be made before the new aluminum siding can be installed. Vinyl siding installation is generally straightforward, but the material’s durability may cause a slightly higher cost upfront through increased resale value and lower maintenance needs.

By adding siding to your service offerings, you can meet the growing needs of prospective customers looking for comprehensive exterior solutions.

For a more in-depth comparison of vinyl and aluminum siding, read the full article from Beacon Building Products or shop for siding from your local distribution center.
