Sustainability, savings and support

Kool Seal Sustainability, savings and support
July 16, 2024 at 6:00 a.m.

By Dani Sheehan.

Discover why contractors are turning to roof coatings systems and how Kool Seal’s customer-centric culture makes it easy to break into this growing market.

In a recent episode of CoatingsCast™, Karen Edwards is joined by Jeff Hung, Marisol Masferrer and Patrick Noble from Kool Seal, a Sherwin-Williams' brand, to talk about roof coatings and the customer support Kool Seal provides to contractors. With a customer-centric culture, the Kool Seal team builds relationships by actively engaging with contractors in the field to address their needs effectively.

As the coatings industry continues to gain popularity, the shift towards fluid-applied systems positions Kool Seal at the forefront of the industry. Patrick describes the rapid expansion of the coatings market as the fastest growing commercial roofing application. He elaborates, “We see a lot of companies that focus solely on fluid-applied roofing systems. So really, Kool Seal fits right into that. And all our different points of distribution really help with growing that market. And there's a lot of benefits, sustainability, cost savings, renewability, to using coatings versus traditional roofing systems.”

Marisol highlights the sustainability benefits that come from roof coatings, noting that “Kool Seal is the only UV-stable system that’s out there.” This not only protects and prolongs the life of existing roofs but also aligns with companies’ environmental initiatives. She adds, “Contractors are jumping on board to become more restoration roofers than they are re-roofers. When it comes to the labor incentives in the sense of less labor, more margins for them, coatings are high up there with that margin cost. So, it brings them more money and it's easier to apply when they can do a restoration system that's more cost-effective to the building owner.”

Putting himself in the building owners’ shoes, Jeff sees roof coatings selling themselves as building owners become more educated on their benefits. He shares, “They’re seeing this as a viable option, a preventative maintenance measure to catch the roof, and have options to extend the life of it. So, as they are getting more educated, products and Kool Seal products are getting more innovative.”
