Johnny Walker has years of experience on all sides of the industry, he has been a facility manager, a contractor, a manufacturer's rep, in sales, and now serves as the national technical manager for ICP’s Roofing and Waterproofing Division. “I have a lot of experience,” Johnny tells Heidi. “I've been on every aspect of it.”
This Lunch & Learn will go over three main learning objectives:
1 - Understanding roof restoration.
2 – Understanding and identifying good candidates for restoration.
3 – Benefits of restoration to building owners, facility managers and to the roofing contractors.
“All too often, when people think of roof restoration, they think of coatings. Well, that's just one aspect of it,” explains Johnny. “When we think of restoring a roof, what we're actually talking about is taking a roof that hasn't reached the end of its life, still has some usable life left, and prolonging its life through a thorough restoration.”
Restoration is an incredibly important topic at the moment. As the industry looks for greener, more economic solutions to roofing issues, restoration more clearly becomes the next step in elevating the trade. With more and more roofers looking to prolong the roof’s life rather than tear it off prematurely, this Lunch & Learn is as timely as ever.
Johnny reviews the processes of restoration and how to assess if a roof is a viable candidate. He further elaborates on how these processes benefit the contractor and the building owner. He suggests restoration as a great solution to the labor shortage, as the job requires much less labor while possibly offering higher profitability. In the span of 15 minutes, you’ll learn everything you need to know about roof restoration.
